Artist Notes 1/22/2019: Hey guys! Happy Monday! Hope all is well today! 😀

We finally get to see what this newt guy is all about! 😀 He’s based on a creature of Celtic mythology called a Joint-Eater (Alp-Luachra), which is a type of fairy (often appearing in the form of a newt) that crawls inside the mouths of folks that fall asleep near rivers and sits in their stomach, living off of their food like a parasite–literally at the bottom of their wikipedia page it says “See Also: Tapeworm.” XD But in the world of MNM, they’re a newt-like race of Fomorian (Monster) that has the ability to shrink and travel inside the mouths/stomachs of companions or enemies. Though that’s all I’ll say for now, I’ll let you all speculate to yourselves about how that might become useful, and you’ll see. 😉 As far as this page goes, it took me SO LONG to decide what Kerr’s shrinking was going to look like, but I’m happy with how it turned out!

Also, I’m so happy with how the face of Ceras’s beast form turned out in the bottom panel. 🙂 Not in my comfort zone, I wish he could have just stayed nice and handsome and humanoid, but we decided a long time ago that Satyrs would have a transformation for fighting. >.>; But yeah, I’m just happy that I feel like those sorts of drawings are starting to turn out better for me. ^ ^’

In other news, I live in a frozen wasteland now! 😀 This weekend we got two entire feet of snow, with snow drifts that are 4 to 8 feet. :S Literally the snow flanking our driveway is up to my chest! And it’s so cold salt isn’t melting the ice and snow, so none of the roads have visible lanes, it’s just bananas. I’ve never seen such an intense snowstorm while it was so cold (It’s been averaging 0F, so -17C…) Scout boy is a fan of playing in the snow, but it’s a little chilly for him… and the sidewalks are nowhere to been seen, and I’m not about to walk him in the road… they’re narrow and slippery, too dangerous for little rambunctious pups. 🙁 So it’s been a little cabin fever-ie. But yeah, enough about that, I just (generally) love extreme weather and I have some cute snow Scout photos for y’all. 🙂
