Episode 16:
Thunder Down Under

Conflict comes to a boil on the promenade next to the docks as dockworkers and pirates begin to quarrel over what to do with Flynn, Ana, & Shoal after they killed to dockworkers on the open streets. Flynn deftly manages to spark a fight between the two parties by using his poppet hand to fling at rock at one of them without being noticed. Just as the fight is about to ensue however, it is interrupted by the firing of a pistol held by a strange undead-looking humanoid guarded by a squad of 4 fomorians. She urges the crowd to disperse explaining that the thunderous blast they heard must have been a “thunder-powder” experiment gone wrong and that would make it the responsibility of an individual she referred to as the “Thunder Baron” to resolve.
The crowd fell away begrudgingly and the undead-looking female asked the trio to follow her to her master. The gorta, as the party learns she is called, leads the group to a large establishment off the promenade called the Gregarious Grogs Brewery. In a tasting room underneath the building they met with a large Leshen who introduced himself as Ganley Ashfell. Ashfell, pressed the party to disclose how they obtained their thunder powder supply and was disappointed when Flynn admitted that he came to the city with a small supply already on him. The leshen said that he was hoping that information could be their repayment for his people resolving the conflict on the docks, but would settle for Flynn completing a courier mission for him and bringing two kegs of Gregarious Grog to certain establishments in the Slums that are more difficult for his Fomorian employees to get to. Flynn agreed and the party was free to go. They quickly returned to the rest of the party at the Happy Seadog Inn to determine what their next steps would be. The group decided that they would go to the Must Estate and see if they could do a little reconnaissance. They waited until late in the evening and set out for The Estates.
The group snuck on the Must property and then Shoal set off on their own to infiltrate further. They gained a good lay of the land inside and were able to scout out a few of the rooms they would need to get into when they returned. However they didn’t see any trapped or any people when they peeked inside. Happy with the information they had obtained the party decided to make one last stop at the Widows Crest cemetery down in the docks district so that they could get the bones they needed to fake their assassination attempt. As they descended Cliffdown Row after midnight, they were spotted by an Owlbear that had been scoping out the cliffside thoroughfare earlier that day. It let out a massive roar and the party heard the sounds of flapping wings taking flight and a voice that yelled “Where’s my sister’s cart?!!!!”
