Aching and Entering

The party returns to the Western Ledgewarfs after dark to begin their heist. Shoal re-attempts his sleuthing through the gaps in the warehouse's wall to make sure nothing has changed from earlier in the day. Unfortunately, while doing so Shoal topples a stack of barrels on the pier which attracts the attention of the guards. Shoal, playing up their own naivety, convinces the guards to simply escort him out of the property. As the party discusses next moves they witness an entire crew of sailors leave the warehouse. Reuben tries to bluff his way past them through the open door, but is rebuffed by the rowdy sailors.

Out of options the party decides to enter full force. Flynn unlocks the front door immediately attracting the attention of two sailors standing guard. Combat ensues. In short order the warehouse foreman and his dog leave their office to enter the fray, luckily the increased number of combatants doesn’t bog-down the party and they are able to knock all their foes unconscious.

The noise however draws the attention of a troop of patrolling Enforcers but Rueben is able to dissuade them from investigating for the time being.

While pushing through the main storeroom of the warehouse, large crocodilian beasts commonly known as Sea Chompers burst through grates in the storeroom floor. The party is able to eliminate them before they can do much harm, but attracts more sailors in the process. Rayna is knocked unconscious, and Shoal is able to use their swarm to clean her wound and revive her with their healing ichor. The crew finds the salvaged steel in a locked cage on the edge of the warehouse pier.

Upon their discovery Shoal loudly shouts “WE FOUND IT” prompts the Enforcer troop to return, demanding to investigate the area. The party decides to wake the warehouse foreman and intimidate him into assuring the Enforcers that nothing is out of the ordinary. The foreman agrees, but as soon as he is in front of the Enforcers he immediately outs the entire squad by shouting “We’re being robbed!”
