Episode 9:

Joining the Underground

The party’s new contact Veo, a secretive cat Stuffkin with ties to the Greybloods, provides them with their first opportunity to ingratiate themselves within the organization. While they will never become members of the Guild due to their party’s makeup, (the Greybloods are explicitly Toy Only), there’s a situation that could benefit from a more expendable touch.

The Greybloods have recently begun excavating old smuggling tunnels beneath Beggar’s Bay, but someone or something is disappearing their laborers. The party’s job is simple; find whatever is causing the issue, and solve it with extreme prejudice.

Without much of a choice the crew agrees to the terms, and set out to a meeting place across town where they will then be led to a secret entrance to the tunnels. En route it is discovered that Ana and Rueben’s past are entwined; the town Ana woke up in surrounded by corpses 25 years ago is the same town Rueben’s wife was slain.

Reuben withdraws from the party to fester mightily over this new info, but before the party can learn more Veo appears to bring the party to the tunnel entrance.
